Iron Man 3: My thoughts

Nerdy Girl
Overall I thought the movie was great. The effects were good, acting good and in general everything was mostly in character with how I perceive these characters to act/be like overall it was a nice brainless experience. Got to see some of the different Iron Man suits and how Tony's coping with the world after the fight in NY. There are a couple of minor things that just don't make sense to me towards the end mainly involving Pepper but I am more than willing to overlook a lot of that in the long run as I'd still buy it & add it to my movie collection. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars for overall performance, just those niggling little plot holes & character bits with Pepper that downgraded it in my opinion.

With any luck tomorrow I'll go see the new Star Trek: Into Darkness with Dad and let you all know later how that goes. :)

I promise I'll wait a week more before I say anything about it except "wow, good job."

The Year of 2010 and the Start of 2011

Nerdy Girl
Haven't posted in quite a while, so time for an update.

Still living with my Dad here in Aztec. We have always gotten along, so it's been quite lovely just the two of us and all my pets. I know some people have protested to this arrangement, but they can all go suck it. It works for us. We help each other and we give each other company, what more can you really ask for? Keep your negativity to yourselves because I will no longer tolerate it. I will slam the door in your face, hang-up the phone on you, or simply walk away because I am not your verbal whipping boy. I will not take on your negativity for any reason. It is yours, keep it.

I lost my lovely little cat Twilight this year back in August to coyotes in the area. Low rabbit population this year means they started in on livestock and pets, little fuckers. My neighbors (who are all family) have lost pets too to the horrible coyote move-in. I let Beowulf loose at night sometimes, he brings me back trophy bits. I generally don't mind coyotes but when they get in on pets and livestock, then they are considered dead to me.

To help myself out on the right path and to where I want to go I have made up my schedule for every day, a rough one so if I'm ill or things pop up I can rearrange it easily, but one made with a simple small goal list of accomplishments for every day/week/month/quarter. Time for change. I know I won't get all I want done, but trying is better than just sitting there, wondering when I will start.

I'm looking forward to this new year. I look at 2010 as a learning year, a year of figuring out where my personal lows are at and what is really important to me. Tired of sitting on the sidelines, no more. 2011 is the Boot-straps year. Suit up, buckle down, and hold on bitches for this is the year of change. I am taking Bruce Lee's phrase "Be Like Water" to heart, I will flow and take on any form I need. I can. I will. Done.

Spirit Day

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes and at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

RIP Tyler Clementi, Seth Walsh (top)
RIP Justin Aaberg, Raymond Chase (middle)
RIP Asher Brown and Billy Lucas. (bottom)

REBLOG to spread a message of love, unity and peace.

I am putting this up and asking any of my friends that support this idea to please wear Purple on Oct. 20th. Just to show that you agree that this form of bullying and hate has to end, no more children need to die. Thank you.

A Heavy Heart...

Nerdy Girl
I've been carrying a pretty heavy heart for over a year now. Over a year of heartache is enough.
After the death of my little cat Twilight and having to give up all her kittens, all this monkey barrel of sadness has come welling up in me. I didn't realize I was storing it up but its there deep down. I don't want to explode like a woman-shaped volcano, I need to let it all out, let the tears flow.

My biggest heartache is from the ex. I'll always love my ex-fiancee Andrew, but I need to let that sadness & heartache go. I know we will never be together, it just wasn't right for either of us, but that doesn't stop my heart from still loving him and wishing him well.

Time for some cleaning and some art. Let it all out. No more internet or tv till this evening. See you guys later. If anything is good I'll post it. Till later.

If you’ve been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new question. Tag eleven people. Don’t refuse to do that. Don’t tag who tagged you.

→ What song are you currently addicted to?
The Current (w/Gavin Rossdale) by Blue Man Group

→ What's your favorite season?
Fall, nice and cool in the mornings and evenings but still warm during the day.

→ What’s the latest movie you watched?
Kickass, was definitely a fun movie. My dad liked it.

→ What is your favorite hang-out?
my local comic shop, Atomik Comix in Farmington, NM.

→ What's your favorite musical instrument?

→ What web sites do you always visit when you go online?
LJ, Facebook, Fleen,, NPR, a couple of webcomics & DA.

→ What was the last thing you bought?
7 Up causes I've got some stomach flu thingy right now :(

→ If you won 10,000 bucks today, what would you do with it?
pay off some of my small debts and put the rest into a savings jar (I don't trust banks, jar better).

→ Favourite time of day?
Early morning for physical work (day-job) and the evening for creative work (since I usually have the house to myself).

→ What's the last thing that made you happy? this made me just laugh my ass off, does that count?

→ Do you want to learn another language?
yes, but since it take me at least 7yrs to fully comprehend one most people wouldn't have the patience that I would need. Being severely dyslexic, I have a form that affects all areas of my brain not just reading & writing but comprehension and auditory as well, so I would need a really long time and to probably be in the native country of that language in order to learn it.

→ Five things you can’t live without.
1. Sketchbook & Pencils/Pens
2. My Pets
3. My PC
4. Music
5. Books

→ What’s the question you don't like to be asked?
I hate being asked about why I don't have any kids or are married yet. People don't seem to like the answer that I've had cancer so I can't have kids and no man has been able to put up with me so I'm married to myself.
